Cavalry rules tips/tricks
Anyone seen a good tutorial, or video of all of the cavalry rules and tips/tricks? It seems like our collective knowldge of cavalry rules might actually be weaker then that of throw attacks
From battlecollege:
Cavalry
Cavalry models are mounted, typically on an animal such as a horse. This rule is sometimes called "Heavy Cavalry", to distinguish it from the Light Cavalry rule.
All cavalry models are subject to the following rules:

Cavalry
Cavalry models are mounted, typically on an animal such as a horse. This rule is sometimes called "Heavy Cavalry", to distinguish it from the Light Cavalry rule.
All cavalry models are subject to the following rules:
- Tall in the Saddle
Models ignore intervening models with smaller bases when making melee and charge attacks.
Ride-By Attack (Order)
Model makes a full advance and halts at any point to make its combat action. Resolve any end of action effects, after which it can resume its movement. Resolve any end of movement effects. A cavalry trooper must receive the order and complete its movement and action before the next model in its unit activates.
Mount
A Mount has a 1/2" melee range. Attack and damage rolls cannot be boosted. The damage roll is equal to 2d6 + POW of the mount. Normally a mount can only be used to make impact attacks.
Cavalry Charge (Order)
If a charging cavalry model contacts another model and has moved at least 3", it can stop and make impact attacks with its Mount against all models in the Mount's melee range.
Impact attacks happen all at once.
After resolving impact attacks the model continues its charge movement and cannot make any more impact attacks.
If the target model is not in melee RNG at the end of the movement, the charge fails, like a normal charge would.
If the charge target is the first model contacted, the charging model can make an impact attack against it.
If the charging model did not move at least 3" it must stop its movement and makes no impact attacks.
A cavalry model that charges gets a bonus to charge attack rolls, but impact attacks do not.
Re: Cavalry rules tips/tricks
Doesn't tall in the saddle allow the cav model to ignore intervening models when declaring a charge as well or instead of ignoring them while attacking?

Indeed. Tall in the saddle ignores intervening models when declaring charges. That's why, back in MK1, eGaspy's lists would always have a unit of Soulhunters, since they were able to come back from the dead and stampede straight to the caster.
